Guangshan Temple is an important assembly site for the belief of Confucianism in Taiwan during the Japanese Colonial Period. This was the base of proliferation of the Confucian Belief in the Liudui Area. Historically, it is a valuable site in the development of Confucianism. Meinong, nicknamed "Home of Doctors", sees this temple as a representation of enlightenment. The hall and walls are still kept intact and has been officially classified as a valuable historic architecture. There is a Literature Pavilion inside of the compound, standing as a witness to Meinong's cultural heritage. The temple also offer boarding services to visitors who want to do stay over in the township.
